I noticed the firmware upgrade instructions leave little to be desired. That could be a potential problem depending on how the player recognizes the disc. It appears the firmware file structure is vary similar to the firmware contents for the Olevia Blu-ray player.Warning: do not burn the unzip files on a blank CD R /CD-RW/ CD RW disc. We tested it with latest Fox released movie "Horton Hears a Who", which wasn't played in previous firmware but played in this version. With the player in NO DISC mode, press the Setup button and go to General → Update Firmware → CD ROM.We also tested the below BD discs with this firmware, all can be played properly. Then press the ENTER button, the unit's disc tray will open automatically. Put the disc in the tray (leave the disc tray open), select Yes and press the Enter button to start the upgrade. In about 8 minutes, the CD Tray will open automatically. If the disc tray does not open automatically, please press the Open button on the front panel of the unit. NOTE: after finishing above steps, please power off and then on the unit, the unit should be in working order.Information about the BDP-05FD latest firmware update: For more details, please refer to the support information.Information about the BDP-09FD latest firmware update: For more details, please refer to the support information.
